Licensed Professional Counselor and Daring Way Trained Facilitator Serving City Park and Denver Area Residents

Karen Conklin-Johnson has spent over two decades helping individuals and couples in Denver move from stuck, overwhelmed, and disconnected to genuinely thriving. Before becoming a therapist, she spent nearly a decade in technology sales and sales management, an experience that shapes how she understands the pressures her high-achieving clients navigate.

Since founding City Park Counseling in 2006, Karen has worked with thousands of individuals and couples across Denver, helping them identify patterns that no longer serve them and build something better. Her approach is direct, evidence-based, and built for people who want real change, not indefinite processing.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)-informed work to shift the thought patterns driving anxiety, burnout, and self-defeating behavior

  • Somatic approaches to address the physical toll of chronic stress
